The new buildings are GORGEOUS!
Everything at the MTC has been pretty great! This Wednesday I got to be a host to other new missionaries that were coming in. One was from the Dominican Republic. She was super sweet! An elder that served in her ward picked her up and dropped her off at the MTC. She was confused by the fact that my last name was Rodriguez but that I couldn't speak Spanish to her haha, she was really nice though. And then the other girl I hosted was actually cousins with one of the guys I worked with at the testing at BYU Hawaii, small world.
In other news, we moved into the new buildings that they just opened at the MTC. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL, tres belle! They have tall ceilings, so much space, a fountain and terrace out front, so many ponder areas, and so many gorgeous paintings with scriptures along with them all over. They said they wanted to be treated almost like a temple and for it to invite the spirit and it definitely does. It's beautiful and my whole class (me included) feel so blessed to be in them. Also best part I think is that in the ponder areas they have little music boxes that you can turn on and play calm study music (I've been missing music a lot).
Ohhhhh and also cool...since they have new buildings they are making a movie for the open house that they are going to be playing during the MTC building open house (for the whole public to come see.) So if anyone wants to come see where I've been studying my soul out, they are having an open house. They are also going to make another video to put on lds.org just to introduce the new buildings. The cool thing is that they chose my district (12 people) and 2 other districts to be part of the background filming (or whatever that film stuff is in movies where they have words or music going and then a picture rolling in the background.) My class might be in it! They spent I swear like 20 minutes on my face as I was teaching with my companion another companionship....so its possible that I might be in the movies they make or it's also possible my face was too red for them to use any of the film they got of me haha. Be on the look out though in the next couple weeks!
Other than that all has been well! We've really been focusing the purpose of all of our studying and language studying on the people that we will be teaching. I love it here at the mtc, days take forever but weeks go super fast. My teacher calls us "a fish in water." We are just so surrounded by the spirit. I hope all is well with everyone!
