ZONE CONFERENCE! Things are going pretty okay here. Zone conference was really fun, it was cool getting to see and meet all the missionaries on the island. Everybody knows everybody, it's like a mini weird extended family, which also makes it fun with transfers (which are this Monday.) Every body makes predictions and even just the change of a couple of people is exciting. But conference was good. As a district, we put on a concert Sunday night for our ward, We had life a fireside and had a mixture of solo pianos, duets, "district choir" songs. It was good. I played a couple of pieces and they went alright. It's funny just because the culture is so relaxed here, during multiple piano solos people just sang a long and oh! bishop finished the fireside with his testimony, except he poetry slammed his testimony as Sœur Decady played the piano. It was so cool, and so different, haha I loved it. We had a lot of our investigators come though and they loved it. ...

A bird pooped on my foot

So this week went super fast, I feel like not much has happened... Last week for p day we went to the zoo haha they had ALOT of birds, but they were pretty cool birds, and before that we had some steak and fries which were delicious, best part was that they were free! A member worked at the restaurant, so good! Speaking of food, everyone says that people like you more if you eat a lot soooo I will probably be gaining a lot of weight here, just kidding, I've been exercising every morning.  They have what they call American sandwiches which is where they put meat and sauce and lettuce and fries in a baguette and call it a sandwich. I love them. I also had McDonalds during my exchange with the stls (thats the leaders over the sisters. Once every six weeks we spend a day with them.) McDonalds was good but super expensive. A meal is like 14 dollars. We have zone conference tomorrow, so president is flying over for that which I am super stoked about, kind of becau...

Just laugh and be happy!

Image
Sisters in our Zone So this week has gotten so much better! Not necessarily because things have changed a whole lot, but because I have just learned so much about being happy, appreciating the little things, laughing at the hard ones, and most of all just trusting and relying on the Lord. I think my mission has been the first time that I have really felt a direct blessing for a time that i have been obedient, and its so cool, makes me so happy! First of all Sunday, we were taking the bus to Church (we either walk or bus most places) and we were waiting there and I turned to my companion, and I said "Hey I want to go talk to that guys over there." She doesn't like contacting, and said that you don't have to talk to everyone) and I said yah but pmg says to talk to everyone, and she gave me more excuses and I argued with her a little bit more and then said if you don't want to you can stay here but I want to go talk to him and she ended up coming with ...

Baguettes at every meal!

Image
Bonjour!  Everything is going well here in New Cal. I have taught lots of lessons this week, which is probably my favorite part of everything so far. I've eaten so many baguettes already its not even funny, but I love it. I love bread. Also there is probably bread rice and chicken at every meal, all good things though.  This week we visited an investigator who had 16 cats she was the best and super sweet, she said she wanted to be baptized as well so we are super excited for her.  Also, we taught Mami Wai who told us her conversion story. She said she lives all by herself, and people ask her why she has such a big bed if she lives by herself, and she says that she "Doesn't live by herself. The bed is so big because it's for her and her scriptures," She was so sweet and fed us sooo much food, including manioc, which was not my favorite but it was pretty good.  everyday I'm learning something new, and that's all i can ask for! love you a...

H ello everybody! I have arrived in New Caledonia officially! I only get an hour to email which is actually the hardest thing ever especially on a French keyboard, so I apologize in advance for all of the mistakes. So I left the MTC, flew from California to New Zealand (13 hours) and then spent 7 hours in that airport, got to watch the sunrise in New Zealand and then flew to Vanuatu. We stayed there for two nights, met President Granger (sister Granger was at their daughters wedding) He has an Australian accent for all the family that was wondering haha and he is pretty cool. Then we flew Friday morning to New Caledonia. I got my companion right when I got there and then settled into our apartment, I am serving in Ouemo with Soeur Bonnet, She is from Tahiti, and hardly speaks any English which makes things difficult when I have no idea what I am doing as a missionary let alone any idea what I am doing as a missionary in French. But we are working ...
