Hello everybody! I have arrived in New Caledonia officially! I only
get an hour to email which is actually the hardest thing ever
especially on a French keyboard, so I apologize in advance for all of
the mistakes. So I left the MTC, flew from California to New Zealand
(13 hours) and then spent 7 hours in that airport, got to watch the
sunrise in New Zealand and then flew to Vanuatu. We stayed there for
two nights, met President Granger (sister Granger was at their
daughters wedding) He has an Australian accent for all the family that
was wondering haha and he is pretty cool. Then we flew Friday morning
to New Caledonia. I got my companion right when I got there and then
settled into our apartment, I am serving in Ouemo with Soeur Bonnet,
She is from Tahiti, and hardly speaks any English which makes things
difficult when I have no idea what I am doing as a missionary let
alone any idea what I am doing as a missionary in French. But we are
working together, and progressing slowly but surely. All the members
are really nice. We whitewashed this area though so the work has been
really slow so far, also my trainer has only been in the field for
about 6 weeks now, she hadn't even finished her own training, but I
have faith that we are together for a reason and I have faith that I
will at some point get this whole french thing down hahah pray for me
and for the people I'll be teaching! I love you all!
Soeur Rodriguez
PS Everyone keeps asking me if I am from Mexico! But, I don't know
enough French to be able to explain that yes my name is Mexican but no,
I do not have any Mexican blood haha!
